Social Media Policy
📲 Social Media Policy
Unbothered Psychotherapy and Wellness maintains professional social media accounts for the purpose of education, advocacy, community engagement, and marketing. These platforms include content related to trauma healing, wellness, nervous system care, and decolonized approaches to movement and therapy.
I use platforms like Instagram and TikTok as an extension of my values—not as an extension of the therapeutic relationship.
🚫 Following / Engagement
You are welcome to follow or engage with my public content, but please know:
I do not follow, friend, or interact with current or former clients on social media.
This boundary exists to protect your privacy and maintain ethical integrity.
If you choose to follow, like, comment, or share content, you may be compromising your own confidentiality.
If you decide to unfollow or disengage, please know there is no expectation or judgment.
If there’s something on your personal social media that you’d like to discuss in a session, you’re welcome to bring that content into therapy directly. I will not seek out client profiles or engage outside of consented, therapeutic space.
🧠 Social Media ≠ Therapy
My social media presence is not a substitute for therapy, nor does it establish or reflect a therapeutic relationship.
Posts, videos, or comments are for general information and educational purposes only.
Nothing shared on social media constitutes clinical advice, treatment recommendations, or a mental health diagnosis.
✋ Boundaries & Communication
Direct messages (DMs) are not a secure or appropriate method of communicating about clinical concerns, emergencies, or scheduling.
I do not monitor DMs for urgent needs and will not respond to therapeutic questions through social media.
If you need support, please contact me through secure channels or schedule a session.
🛍 Content, Endorsements & Products
Occasionally, I may share tools, books, playlists, or products that align with my values. Any such posts are educational and personal—not therapeutic recommendations. I do not sell or promote products to current or former therapy clients.
⚠️ In Case of Crisis
Social media is not an appropriate space to seek help in emergencies.
If you are experiencing a crisis or thoughts of self-harm, please call 911, visit your local emergency room, or contact a 24-hour mental health hotline such as:
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (U.S.): call or text 988
If you have questions or concerns about this policy, we can always talk about it in session. I’m committed to offering transparency, safety, and care in all the spaces I show up—online and offline.
