My Philosophy
A liberated, body-inclusive approach to movement & wellness
This is not traditional fitness.
This is a reclamation.
At Unbothered Psychotherapy & Wellness, I believe your relationship to movement should be healing—not harmful. I offer trauma-informed personal training rooted in care, curiosity, and connection—not punishment, shame, or body control.
You won’t find “beach body” challenges or weight loss guarantees here. What you will find is sustainable, supportive movement designed to help you feel more at home in your body, especially if the world has taught you not to.
My work is grounded in:
🟡 Health at Every Size® (HAES)
I reject weight-centric health models and instead support health-promoting behaviors for people in all bodies. Movement, rest, nourishment, and care are all valid regardless of your size or shape.
🟡 Body Inclusivity
All bodies are welcome here—fat bodies, disabled bodies, queer bodies, trans bodies, racialized bodies, neurodivergent bodies, postpartum bodies, aging bodies, and more. You don’t need to “fix” your body to deserve movement that feels good.
🟡 Decolonizing Wellness
The wellness industry often reinforces white supremacy, ableism, and capitalism through “grind culture,” food policing, and beauty standards. My practice intentionally resists these norms, centering rest, pleasure, and community care as essential to well-being.
What “Trauma-Informed” Means in My Work
Being trauma-informed means I understand how stress and trauma live in the body—and how movement can support your healing, not retraumatize you.
✔ No yelling, shame, or forced reps
✔ Always your choice, always consent-based
✔ Movement adaptations for emotional and physical safety
✔ Space for breaks, emotions, and regulation tools during sessions
This Work Is About…
Rebuilding trust with your body
Exploring movement as a form of self-connection, not control
Creating routines that support nervous system regulation
Unlearning the binary of “good” vs. “bad” bodies
Moving from hustle to healing
Why This Matters
For many of us—especially those who are Black, queer, neurodivergent, or survivors of trauma—movement hasn’t always felt safe.
You’ve been pushed to shrink yourself, quiet yourself, overextend yourself.
I want to offer a different path. One that centers agency, joy, and collective liberation.
Let’s move toward healing. Together.
